Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Melbourne

On arrival at Melbourne Airport you will be transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore cosmopolitan Melbourne. Accommodation: Grand Mercure Swanston (standard), Stamford Plaza (first class) or Hotel Sofitel (deluxe), Melbourne, 3 nights.

Day 2: Great Ocean Road

Travel along the Great Ocean Road for dramatic coastal scenery. View the Twelve Apostles, remains of London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge shipwreck site. (B)

Day 3: City Sights Tramcar

Enjoy a morning tour of Melbourne including the Royal Botanic Gardens and Shrine of Remembrance. This evening make your own way to dine on-board the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant. (B) (HD)

Day 4: Kangaroo Island

You will be transferred to Melbourne Airport for your flight to Adelaide (flights to arrive prior to 8.30am, airfare not included). Fly to Kangaroo Island (airfare included) for a full-day 4WD tour to Flinders Chase National Park, the Remarkable Rocks and Seal Bay. Day 5: Barossa Valley

Day 6: Adelaide Uluru (Ayers Rock)

You will be transferred to Adelaide Airport for your flight to Ayers Rock. On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport you will be transferred to your hotel. Explore Kata Tjuta (Olgas) and watch sunset over mighty Uluru (Ayers Rock). Day 7: Kings Canyon

Rise early this morning to view sunrise over Uluru. Opportunity to climb to the summit (optional) for spectacular views of the Red Centre and enjoy a guided tour of the base. Visit the informative Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. This afternoon travel to Kings Canyon Resort. Accommodation: Kings Canyon Resort (standard, first class or deluxe). (B)

Day 8: Kings Canyon Alice Springs

This morning make the rocky climb to the rim of Kings Canyon for magnificent views of Watarrka National Park. Travel to Alice Springs this afternoon. Accommodation: Aurora Alice Springs (standard), Alice Springs Resort (first class) or Crowne Plaza (deluxe), Alice Springs, 2 nights. (B)

Day 9: Palm Valley

Today join a 4WD safari through the West MacDonnell Ranges into Palm Valley, an oasis of rock pools and palm trees. (BL)

Day 10: Alice Springs Darwin

This morning join a local Aboriginal guide and learn about bush tucker. You will be transferred to Alice Springs Airport for your flight to Darwin. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Day 11: Darwin Kakadu

Travel deep into Kakadu National Park. Visit Nourlangie Rock and cruise on the famous Yellow Water Billabong. Accommodation: Aurora Kakadu (standard) or Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn (first class and deluxe), Kakadu. (BL)

Day 12: Kakadu Darwin

Day 13: Darwin Cairns

Day 14: Kuranda Skyrail Tjapukai

Join the Kuranda train and journey to Kuranda. Return on the Skyrail Cableway. Visit Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, where legends of the Dreamtime are brought to life. Return to Cairns. (B)

Day 15: Great Barrier Reef

Cruise on the Great Adventures high-speed catamaran to the Great Barrier Reef. View the coral and fish from a semi-submersible vessel. Snorkelling gear is included (extra charge for scuba). Enjoy a reef education presentation on this natural living wonder and buffet lunch. (BL)

Day 16: Cairns Sydney

You will be transferred to Cairns Airport for your flight to Sydney. On arrival at Sydney Airport you will be transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Accommodation: Holiday Inn Darling Harbour (standard), Crowne Plaza Darling Harbour (first class) or Swisstel Sydney (deluxe), Sydney, 3 nights. (B)

Day 17: City Sights Cruise

This morning tour Sydney and see the Sydney Opera House, Botanical Gardens. Mrs Macquaries Chair and Kings Cross. Visit famous Bondi Beach, then return to the city for a Sydney Harbour luncheon cruise. Cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge and stop at Milsons Point to photograph fabulous views of the city skyline. Later, visit Manly surf beach, before returning to the city. (BL)

Day 18: Sydney at leisure

Today is at leisure to explore Sydney. Perhaps take an optional tour to the Blue Mountains, the Hunter Valley to sample some of the local wines or Canberra, Australias capital city. (B)

Day 19: Depart Sydney

You will be transferred to Sydney Airport to connect with your onward flight. (B)
