Itinerary

Day 1: Cairns to Cape Tribulation:

The adventure begins! Our tour starts with the chance to take a scenic ride high above the rainforest rooftop on the Skyrail. We'll then head up the coast towards Daintree stopping for a walk through the Mossman Gorge and perhaps a refreshing dip. Resort (D)

Day 2: Cape Tribulation at Leisure:

The opposite of tribulation. Today we'll explore the lush Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation National Park in our 4 wheel drives. A 'must do' is a dip in one of the many swimming holes before we head back to Cape Tribulation Beach. Resort (B)

Day 3: Cape Tribulation to Fitzroy Island:

Crossin' the Daintree . We start our day with a journey down the coast. Crossing the Daintree River, we leave the heritage listed rainforest. We then head towards Fitzroy Island - an island covered in rainforest and surrounded by reef! There will be time to explore and get away from it all before dinner. Lodge (B,D)

Day 4: Fitzroy Island to Cairns:

All ashore. Time to relax or take an early morning walk before we make our way back to the mainland. This afternoon we'll check into our Cairns hotel, situated in a lush tropical setting. Resort (B)

Day 5: Cairns at Leisure:

Reef residents . Again your choice - either spend the day at leisure or take the opportunity to visit the famous Outer Barrier Reef aboard a high-speed catamaran. Why not scuba dive amidst amazingly colourful tropical fish? Tonight we'll check out more tropical wildlife at one of Cairns' nightclubs! Resort (B)

Day 6: Cairns at Leisure:

Are you game? For the adventurous a chance to do some white-water rafting on the rapids of the Tully River. If rafting's not your thing time to relax and check out the delights of Cairns. Resort

Day 7: Cairns to the Whitsundays:

Shute across to Paradise. We'll leave this morning to travel South to Townsville to explore the scenic lookout of Castle Hill. This evening we'll board our launch at Shute Harbour and make the short journey to Long Island - one of the jewels of the Whitsundays. Resort (D)

Or. Sail the Whitsundays:

As an alternative to 2 days Island Resort stay, you can spend 2 days sailing the Whitsundays. Swim, snorkel, or laze your way around this tropical paradise, on board a flotilla yacht. Book in conjunction with your East Coast tour to guarantee a place onboard. NB: There is an additional charge for this option. Twin share supplement not applicable.

Day 8: Whitsundays at Leisure:

Your own 'fantasy island.' Time to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and great amenities of Long Island. Feeling energetic? Why not go bush-walking, play tennis or beach volleyball, take to the water with a snorkel or a jet ski? Want to relax? Then unwind on the palm-lined beach, have a massage, or sip cocktails on the bar verandah as you watch another perfect sunset. Resort.

Day 9: Whitsundays at Leisure. Continued.

Day 10: Whitsundays to the Capricorn Coast:

Smile at the crocodile. From Airlie Beach we'll visit Mackay - Australia's sugar capital. This evening why not come face to fang with huge estuarine crocodiles at the Koorana Crocodile Farm? Hotel (B)

Day 11: Capricorn Coast to Fraser Island:

The Sunshine Coast. This morning as we leave Rockhampton we will cross the Tropic of Capricorn before hooking up with our launch to Fraser Island. Eco Lodge (B,D)

Day 12: Fraser Island at Leisure:

Idyllic island life. Now you're on the largest sand island in the world! What to do? Here are a few clues. Why not take a 4-wheel drive bus tour through the rainforests, a guided bushwalk or a swim in the fresh water lakes? With this many options no chance of going troppo! Eco Lodge

Day 13: Fraser Island to Farmstay:

Get down on the farm. Today we travel South along the coast to Noosa Heads with it's stunning beaches and great shopping. From there we'll visit the koalas and kangaroos at the Forest Glen wildlife sanctuary. Enjoy a good ol' Aussie 'knees up' tonight at our farmstay near Toowoomba. Farmstay (B,D)

Day 14: Farmstay to Surfers Paradise:

From Cow Chips to Casino Chips. From the fertile farming lands of the Darling Downs we'll take in the sights and sounds of Brisbane before arriving in Surfers Paradise. After dinner, try your luck at Jupiter's Casino! Hotel (B)

Day 15: Surfers Paradise at Leisure:

The choice is yours. So much to do in the name of leisure. Here goes! Relax on 42km of white sand beaches, or if you're feeling adventurous - why not try a tandem skydive or a Harley Davidson ride. All are available in Australia's biggest playground. Hotel

Day 16: Surfers Paradise to Coffs Harbour:

2 states in 1 day. This morning we'll cross the Queensland border into New South Wales. We'll stop at Cape Byron, Australia's most easterly point then on to trendy Byron Bay where you can shop or swim. Tonight will be our last night together in our accommodation at Coffs Harbour - vitamin B is good for depression! Resort

Day 17: Coffs Harbour to Sydney:

Thanks for the memories. We head south along the 'holiday coast' and across the famous Harbour Bridge, we'll make a photostop taking in the harbour and Opera House. Time to exchange addresses, snapshots and stories as we return to Sydney where our tour ends and the memories begin! (B)
